New service, in partnership with Unbranded Digital

Video for AI Search is here

We’ve partnered with our friends at Unbranded Digital to launch a brand new service offering: Video for AI Search. The way people search online has changed, and your video content is now part of how AI answers questions.

In partnership with Unbranded Digital

Unbranded Digital brings the marketing knowledge. We bring the videography. Together that’s a service offering built for how people actually search now: across AI-powered tools, video platforms and traditional search.

What is Video for AI Search, and how does it work?

AI search is multimodal, it loves to provide answers in a rich context, crawling all kinds of information to build a response, and that includes video. When you set it up correctly, AI-powered search can crawl the metadata attached to your videos in the same way it crawls the content on your website.

Under the hood, AI search works in two ways. First, it draws on the data already baked into the model as embeddings. Second, it uses a process called RAG, which finds relevant, up-to-date information by breaking a long prompt into separate search queries, pulling the answers it needs, then compiling everything into a single response. Your video content can feed both of those routes if it’s positioned correctly.

Why video is the format AI Search rewards

Video is some of the most engaging content out there. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube already favour it, and AI Overviews regularly cite those platforms because the crawlers read them.

Video answers questions, provides context, builds authority, builds trust and tells stories. AI Search loves rich context, so those qualities feed directly into how often you get cited. The bonus is that everything that makes video good for AI Search also makes it good for the rest of your brand.

Lee from Unbranded Digital explains Brand Drift.

What is Brand Drift, and why should you care?

AI-powered search tools are, for now, prediction engines. They can put two and two together in ways that feel logical but end up at seven.

Imagine your industry has three common services: A, B and C. You offer A and C. Your competitors offer all three. An AI search engine sees the wider landscape and assumes you also offer B, because that’s what the rest of the market does. That’s especially likely if you don’t have much content for the model to read.

That’s Brand Drift. It can happen with services, and it can happen with brand messaging. Video content is one of the strongest signals you can give an AI to keep you positioned where you actually are.

How to position your video for AI Search

Two parts to this. Structure first, positioning second.

Structure your content around SEO data: keywords, key questions, and answers that are succinct enough for an AI to lift and cite. Front-load the bits people are actually searching for. Stay accurate and stay relevant.

Then the positioning. AI Search reads the metadata attached to your video, so make sure every video ships with:

  • Captions
  • Optimised titles, descriptions and chapters
  • Transcripts
  • Timestamps

House the video in an appropriately optimised blog post, and share it across YouTube, Instagram Reels and TikTok so the crawlers find it in more than one place.

What about the SEO you've always done?

If your current SEO strategy is working, keep doing it. We’re not asking anyone to throw the existing playbook out. The point is that AI search is the next layer, and adding video content into your existing strategy is the most efficient way to stay visible as that layer grows.

That’s the case for combining Unbranded Digital’s SEO knowledge with our videography. If that sounds useful, start the conversation.

Choose your tier

Captions and transcripts are included with every tier. Three tiers, three depths of coverage. Pick the one that fits the conversation you want to have.

Tier Three

The best of one and two. 2 days of filming. 4 days of editing.
